How it is - useful visual resources that have been developed to help children communicate about a range of important issues. It has been developed by Triangle and is funded and supported by the NSPCC.   To visit their website and see their useful resources please click the link above.

 

  AladdinAladdin's Cave Beacon Hill School Specialist Sensory Library and Resource Base. Parents, guardians, carers, relatives or those who work with people with special needs are eligible to join. There are hundreds of sensory resources available to borrow, free of charge.

 

 

 NetbuddyNetbuddy.org.uk is an award winning site for swapping practical tips and information on all aspects of supporting people with learning disabilities. Over 1,000 tips from people with first-hand experience of learning disability. Brushing teeth, challenging behaviour, bed-wetting, constipation... there's a tip for that!

TalksenseTalkSense contains information on teaching and learning in the field of Special Education, including sections on Augmentative Communication, Multi-Sensory Referencing, Objects Of Reference, Switch Access, Working with symbols, Teaching through Toys, and many others.

The site provides information for people working in SEN with all levels of learning ability at all ages: from those experiencing Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties to those individuals who are cognitively able but have issues of physical access to the curriculum. TalkSense offers a number of free downloads and services. The site uses symbols, video, documents, PowerPoint, and other media to illustrate the concepts covered to try and keep the information easy to read and digest.
